"As a rider who personally chose to ride in Bates Saddles, I'm both very happy and proud to now be an official Bates Saddles Sponsored Rider – in fact, it’s an honour to be a part of the Bates team!"

Portuguese rider, Martim Menéres, is the latest rider to be sponsored by Bates Saddles. Martim Menéres is a talented dressage rider and is currently ranked 4th and 18th as an FEI Young Rider, and has received a number of accolades including being crowned the Junior National Champion (2016), Young Riders National Champion (2017 and 2018) and placing inside the top 10 at the European Young Riders Championship in both 2018 and 2019.

"My saddle of choice is the Bates Innova Mono+ dressage saddle. In addition to the balanced seat, I really enjoy the added grip of the Luxe Leather (European calf-leather) and being able to move both the block on the outside of the saddle flap and the position of the stirrup bar to fine-tune the saddle to my riding position on each horse. Dressage comes down to the fine details – being able to ensure my horses have the freedom to move in a well-fitting saddle is really important to me and the systems in Bates Saddles allow them to also be perfectly fitted to my horses changing shape (CAIR Cushion System and EASY-CHANGE Fit Solution).

About the sponsorship Ron Bates, Managing Director of Bates Saddles, said:

“We are excited to announce our support of up-and-coming young-rider Martim Menéres. Martim has been a loyal advocate of Bates Saddles and we are thrilled to support and work alongside such a promising rider. It is imperative that our sponsored riders genuinely believe in our saddles, and working alongside riders of Martim’s calibre is instrumental in our pursuit to deliver saddles of unparalleled performance.”
